Zea Beat

Zea Beat

If dreams did have guardians
They'd have your quiet grace,
The impish grin you bare
With your friendly banter,
The fire you but briefly
Flash when you let masks fall
To the ground facades sink
Greeted by the pure white
Petals of your laughter
Lighting the room like spring
Precipitating them
In bleaker darkness when,
Petals closing, it fades.

Then the world inhales, waits
For your next gift of smiles.
